HOME

I grew up in Bracknell but now live in Wokingham with my wife Anne and two children, Ella and Leon. We love the great outdoors, and like nothing more than going on an adventure in our camper van and exploring new exciting places.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

I have always loved bikes after growing up riding my BMX. Whether it’s riding in off-road motorcycle trials events or mountain biking, I enjoy everything on two wheels. I ride locally with friends at Swinley Forest, but love exploring other areas that are further afield. I have been lucky enough to ride my mountain bikes in amazing locations like Wales, Scotland, the French Alps, Canada & New Zealand. Mountain biking is an incredibly exhilarating sport, through which I have met some awesome friends. Being out in the woods on my bike is like therapy to me, if you haven’t tried it grab yourself a bike then go out and play!

MUSIC & LIVE BANDS

The best night out for me involves music, especially watching live bands. I have seen hundreds of bands over the years, and enjoy discovering new acts. With an eclectic collection of vinyl, and a broad taste in music, I like nothing more than immersing myself in live music.

MOTORCYCLE TRIALS

Trials have always been a passion, since I first rode with my Dad as a child. I started competing aged 14 in schoolboy events, progressing to compete at national level. I now enjoy riding in club and national events with the many good friends I have made through the sport.

My children and nephew Ellis now compete in youth events, and I am an active member of the Surrey Youth Trials Club (www.sytc.online) committee. With trials being a sport suitable for all ages, my children are able to ride in events alongside my Dad, with our entries spanning three generations.

VERSONAR

I have played the guitar since the age of eighteen, and often played in bands. In 2017 I formed an acoustic duo called Versonar with my very good friend Matt Williams, a professional sound engineer with incredible experience. We have played at local open mic events and enjoyed the great camaraderie between musicians, but prefer to play at paid functions including garden parties, weddings and anniversaries. With a love of classic cars, we thoroughly enjoyed playing at Dubs at the Park VW Show and Classics at the Clubhouse car show. A highlight for me was playing at my sisters wedding, followed by an amazing DJ set. I also DJ at local functions, including my children’s school discos, with my son Leon aspiring to become a DJ when he is older.

THE VOLKSWAGEN SCENE

When I’m not riding my bikes, my chosen mode of transport has to be Volkswagen. I have loved VWs ever since owning my first split screen camper van and traveling around Europe with friends. My list of Volkswagen cars has included a T5 California camper, Mk1, Mk2 and Mk4 Golf GTIs, a Corrado and two split screen camper vans. My current camper is called Baloo, a 1967 split screen camper van with an original Devon Spaceway interior. I have owned Baloo for over 20 years, and he is like part of the family. We attend many Volkswagen shows and events, with me being Assistant Manager of Dubs at the Park VW Show for several years, and an honorary member of the London & Thames VW Club. My main responsibility for the show included booking the bands and entertainment, and running the main and acoustic music stages, with my favourite bookings being Dodgy and Mark Morriss from the Bluetones.
